When it comes to eating out, there is a surprisingly long selection of authentic, down-to-earth Greek tavernas and restaurants.
Kimolos is generally a small and quiet island, ideal to relax. It is not famous for its vivid nightlife, but for the relaxing atmosphere.
Events & Adventure
Kimolos Experience Festival 2023 offers a wide range of events related to the island. The Open Air Cinema (CINE Kalisperitis) provides each year screenings at the Medieval Castle and famous beaches which makes a unique Cine experience in these beautiful surroundings.
Walking, hiking and trekking are some of the most popular activities. The island features some interesting hiking trails which represent a top opportunity to see the best areas of Kimolos and will take you along lesser-known spots around the island, some of which are not accessible by car.
Beaches
The beaches of Aliki, Bonatsa, and Kalamitsi are large beaches with golden sand and are the ideal place in any weather, facing South. The beach of Prassa, just under the Perlite’s mine, recalls a Caribbean beach. The beaches of Agios Georgios, also with white sand, and those of Livadaki, Klima, Rema, and Psathi, the port area, complete the Southern side of the island.
Kimolos local products
Local products are the base for the Kimolos cuisine, from soft or hard cheeses, often served on the Greek salad, to exceptionally tasty meat from goats, sheep, and fresh fish. Do not forget to try traditional pies like Ladenia (olive oil pie), Tirenia (cheese pie), Kolokithenia (zucchini pie), etc.
